The Damage Remains, 2019

The Damage Remains, analyzes the cliché and seemingly hallow responses that are persistent and come in abundance on social media and news broadcasting platforms after the horrific event of a tornado. The 100 prints are silk screen printed on Tyvek, a synthetic material that is durable and used in building or rebuilding houses. The instillation reaches twelve feet in hight, and gives off the appearance that a tornado itself has come through the gallery. The sheer amount of prints, their bold font and repetition symbolize the overwhelming response to a tornado ripping through a community.
