The Humble Onion is a series of six paintings that were commissioned by the first annual Onion Festival in Innisfil, Ontario; with the onion as the shining star in each painting. I utilized close-up imagery of popular onion dishes, compositionally creating a fun and eye-catching instillation that lined the fence into the entrance of the festival. Each 3’h x 4’w painting can stand alone as an individual artwork. However; when installed as a series, created a bright and inviting spectacle for patrons of the festival to enjoy.
